Washington County Warrant Records Washington County Warrant Records

If a traffic ticket in Washington County has gone unpaid, the place to start is the Justice Court named on the citation. That court can tell you whether a bench warrant is active and what it takes to clear it. Washington County runs separate justice courts in St. George, Enterprise, Hildale, Hurricane, Santa Clara, and Washington City, and the Santa Clara court also covers Ivins. For a wider look, BCI offers a statewide warrant search and Xchange pulls public case history. Call police only for police-held records; the court itself handles any recall. This works for your own case or a relative's notice.

Washington County Municipal Court Warrants

Washington County's local lower courts are Justice Courts, not a single county municipal court. They handle traffic, infractions, ordinances, and class B or C misdemeanors. A missed citation date can lead to a bench warrant in the court that owns that case. Fifth District Court handles felony and class A matters separately.

The statewide BCI search is a useful first check, but city court payment pages are not complete warrant databases. Call the court printed on the citation to confirm active status and the permitted remedy.

Washington County Municipal Justice Court Network

Six Justice Court locations cover the county's lower-level docket: Washington County, Enterprise, Hildale, Hurricane, Santa Clara, and Washington City. Their cases include traffic, infractions, local ordinance matters, and class B or C misdemeanors. Each court keeps its own files, so a ticket's court name matters more than the city name alone.

The sheriff's Wanted page is curated and may not include a local bench warrant. If an entry is absent, use BCI and the court clerk before concluding that no order exists.

The county Justice Court links page collects official court, BCI, and sheriff resources.

The county court map has separate Justice Courts for county and several city dockets. St. George traffic matters generally use Washington County Justice Court, and Ivins matters go to Santa Clara Justice Court. The named court on a citation is the reliable routing detail.

Why Ivins Uses Santa Clara Justice Court

Santa Clara Justice Court officially serves both Santa Clara and Ivins. The court is at 2603 Santa Clara Drive and can be reached at (435) 673-6712. A citation issued in Ivins may name Santa Clara Justice Court, which is the expected court route rather than a mismatch.

Use that court for a case or warrant question. Santa Clara's page offers citation payment and a records-request form, but the clerk should confirm whether payment will recall a particular warrant.

The official court page sets out its two-city service area.

Checking a Municipal Court Warrant

Begin with BCI's statewide search, then check public case history in Xchange. A city citation or warrant belongs with its Justice Court clerk. Washington City takes a callback request; Hurricane and Santa Clara publish separate court contacts. No countywide city-warrant portal was identified.

  1. Read the citation for its court and case number.
  2. Search the BCI Statewide Warrants portal and public Xchange case history.
  3. Call the Justice Court on the citation for active status, amount, and appearance instructions.
  4. Use city police for police-held records and the court for recall or payment questions.

Washington City's Wednesday Court Calendar

Washington City's weekly session starts at 9 a.m. each Wednesday except holidays, and arraignments are virtual. A person may request a judge appointment by phone or email. Other hearing rules depend on the person's residence and hearing type, so ask the clerk before assuming a remote appearance is allowed.

The court asks callers to leave a legal name, birth date, citation or case number, phone, email, and reason. It states a one-to-two business day callback. That is a court-specific response process, not a countywide warrant phone line.

Inside a Municipal Court Warrant

A local record may connect a citation, court, charge, amount, FTA event, and next setting. Xchange can show public case history, while BCI may show statewide warrant status. The sheriff booking report has separate custody fields. These views can differ, so check the court name and ask the clerk to interpret the current status.

Case or citationUse the reference printed on the ticket; no shared local number format was verified.
ChargeTraffic, ordinance, infraction, or class B/C misdemeanor category.
Issuing courtThe Justice Court that holds the case.
AmountCase-specific fine or bail; confirm current amount with the clerk.
StatusMay reflect a missed date, payment, hearing, service, or court recall.

Online Payment Is Not a Warrant Search

Washington City accepts cash at court and Visa or Mastercard online. Santa Clara Justice Court has a citation-payment link. Washington County Justice Court uses Secure Instant Payments and lists a convenience fee for ticket payments. These tools move money on a case; they do not replace a clerk's confirmation that a warrant is recalled.

Ask whether the full balance is due and whether a judge must approve a plan. Keep the transaction receipt, then call the issuing court to check the warrant and next hearing.

How to Resolve a Municipal Court Warrant

Contact the Justice Court named on the citation. Ask whether full payment, an appearance before a judge, or a written request is needed. Washington County Justice Court says its warrant stays active until full payment or a judge sees the person; payment plans need court approval. Other courts set their own process.

  1. Confirm active status, amount, and the court's permitted remedy.
  2. Ask if a payment plan, judge appointment, or written motion is available.
  3. Use the court's approved payment or appearance route and keep proof.
  4. Call to verify recall and any next date after the court updates the case.

Warning: A citation payment page cannot confirm a warrant recall. Ask the court whether the judge or clerk must update the case.

Hurricane Police and Court Are Separate

Hurricane Police is at 90 South 700 West, phone (435) 635-9663. Hurricane Justice Court is nearby at 80 South 700 West, phone (435) 635-4072. The court handles the traffic or ordinance case and controls warrant recall. Police records and GRAMA requests belong with the police department.

This split matters when a caller is unsure which office to reach. Ask the Justice Court about case status and payment; ask police about a police-held report; contact WCSO or the jail only for service or custody logistics.
